Munich
The high-performance "96M1566L"
embedded system from DSM Computer's NanoServer® E3-COM family is
designed for the extended operating temperature range of -10° C to +45° C. This
makes the robust, fan-free computer particularly appropriate for mobile
applications in the outdoor area, e.g. as communications, metrology or data
acquisition system.
The "96M1566L" NanoServer®
E3-COM integrates a mini-ITX baseboard with a computer-on-module that conforms
to the COM Express™ standard. This compact module is based on the Intel®
Core™ 2 Duo L7400 processor and the Intel® 82945GME chip set. The
onboard Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 that ensures an
excellent graphic power allows the connection of two independent displays.
Furthermore, the COM Expressâ„¢ module provides unique security functions that
protect customer-developed application software from unauthorized accesses.
To satisfy the requirements of industrial
applications, a broad palette of interfaces is offered. In addition to the four
existing USB 2.0 ports, four additional USB 2.0 interfaces are provided on the
baseboard that can be used for external I/O connection if necessary. In
addition to the VGA and DVI-D internal graphic interfaces, an LVDS port and a
backlight interface for controlling the backlight voltage are provided.
Furthermore, two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and, if required, even a wireless
LAN 802.11b/g interface are available. As system extension, the NanoServer®
E3-COM is optionally available with two PCI slots or with a PCI and a PCI
Express® x1 slot for short cards. Additional customer-specific
connections can be implemented using the integrated I/O Shield.
The compact "96M1566L" embedded
system is installed in a high-quality, small 220 x 220 x 110 mm industrial
housing that can be supplied in all RAL and NCS colors. The integrated,
extremely robust 2.5 inch hard disk (Ultra DMA/33/66/100) with 80 GB capacity
is also specially designed for the extended temperature range. Furthermore, the
NanoServer® E3-COM allows up to two compact flash cards to be used
as mass storage. This means the operating system and the application data can
be physically separated for pure flash-based systems.
